In this video, two friendly YouTubers show us how to remove chrome trim from our car simply by wrapping it with a removable spray film. You will need a can of removable spray paint (so if you don't like it, you can take it off): you can find it on Amazon with the code B07TZQ3X9Q for £20.95 with free delivery.

First, degrease the chrome you want to paint using alcohol (or a degreaser); clean it well, then carefully mask off the area around the part to be painted. Apply a very light first coat, then once dry, apply a second, third, and finally a fourth coat, spraying closer each time.

Allow the final coat to dry for at least thirty minutes. Don't worry if there are painted body parts, as you will easily remove them.

If you can paint removable parts, even better; it will be even easier, but always follow the indicated steps.
