How does the TPMS work on cars?

In this video we see how the TPMS system works: it is explained by a big name in the world of tires, like Continental. The contact with the ground of a car is delegated to the tires, and if one of the tires has too low pressure, it deforms, decreasing the contact with the ground in the central part. Instead, properly inflated tires evenly distribute the weight of the car, also positively affecting fuel consumption; technical studies have shown that over 25% of drivers drive with inadequate tire pressure. Since November 2014, all M1 category vehicles (up to 8 seats + driver) in the EU must be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system, in order to improve driving stability and braking safety. There is an indirect system based on tire rotation through the ABS unit, and once all tires are checked, the system must be reset. The direct system uses sensors to provide the driver with information on which tire has lost pressure, also providing information on the current pressure, so that it can be resolved immediately.
