How to Replace the Timing Belt

First, disconnect the battery. Next, remove the components that obstruct or protect access to the belt in question. In some cases, you may also need to remove an engine mount; make sure to support the engine from below before doing so. Once all unwanted parts are removed, loosen the bolts that secure the alternator to release the tension that keeps the belt stable on the pulleys. Be very careful during reassembly to align the timing marks correctly. Then, retrace the steps described in reverse for reassembly.
