In this video, see how to improve the radio antenna reception of your vehicle or van. To enhance the signal, it is crucial that the junction between the reception base on the roof of the vehicle and the antenna itself is clean: it is located in a spot where it easily collects dust and dirt, which certainly limits signal reception.

You will need white vinegar and baking soda, a can of compressed air, cotton buds, and perhaps a vacuum cleaner, some dielectric grease, and an electrical parts cleaner.

Dissolve the vinegar in the baking soda, dip a cotton bud that fits the antenna hole, clean thoroughly, and then clean the antenna screw. Allow it to dry, then apply some dielectric grease, remove all particles with compressed air, and refit the antenna, measuring the signal with a multimeter; it should now be at its best.
