How to permanently remove moisture from the rear lights

We know how annoying it is, after a period of heavy rain, to find the rear lights holding moisture inside. We then remove the optical group from its housing, disconnect the electrical plug and remove the bulb inside. We dry the inside of the headlight with a dry cloth and then remove any residual moisture with the hot air from a hairdryer (but it must not be too hot, or it will deform the plastics). When it is well dried, we apply a layer of silicone all around the inner frame of the optical group to seal any holes that may have formed. Opening the sealant cap, we make a slanted cut so that it can come out neatly. We carefully finish and put the optical group back in place.
