How can you change the battery of the key fob for a Volkswagen New Beetle? Take your key fob and use a screwdriver to pry between the two covers of the key (in the space where the cover cap fits). Pry until the cover cap opens, then, using a small screwdriver, remove the worn battery, take a new one of the same size and voltage. Refit the cover on your key fob by pressing on the key case until you hear it click into place. Check the correct functioning of the key fob by pressing the buttons.
