What does the SAFE 2 code indicate on the Volkswagen?

Model: Volkswagen Volkswagen Various
Part: Warning light – error code

Video tutorial

When the code SAFE 2 appears on the radios of Volkswagen vehicles and the radio stops working, it means that it is necessary to enter the four-digit unlock code. The code to unlock the radio can be purchased at the dealership if it is not available in the instruction manual, but at the same time, the code can be traced through the "Radio code calculator" website.

Once you have obtained the code, simply turn on the instrument panel and the radio to enter it using the number keys. The radio will unlock immediately.

But why does the code SAFE 2 appear? Usually, this code appears when the vehicle's battery is disconnected.
