How to Unlock a Volkswagen Radio

If the Volkswagen radio has gone into "safe" mode due to a power loss and you have lost the unlock code, you can attempt to retrieve it using the barcodes on the unit. Remove the radio from its housing using the release levers inserted at the base of the lower trim and extract the unit. On the top side, there are several barcodes; we are interested in the one without other text, usually positioned on the left. Scan it using one of the free apps available in the smartphone store, and note down the code you read. Using the radio keypad, press the "1" button until the first digit appears, "2" for the second, "3" for the third, and "4" for the fourth digit of the code, and confirm by pressing the right arrow, aligned with the volume knob.
