First, open the driver's side door and go inside the cabin, then remove the protective plastic located at the end of the dashboard. You can make this operation easier by using a common flathead screwdriver.

Once you have removed the protective cover, you finally have access to the fuses of the Volkswagen Passat B7. To work on them, it is necessary to first disconnect both battery terminals for safety reasons.
