Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 4, Golf IV, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Air conditioning controls
Operation: Air conditioning controls lighting bulb replacement

The light bulb for the climate control controls (knobs) is a T5 type bulb (12V, 1.2W) with a glass base and is located immediately behind the central knob (the one that regulates the speed of the internal fan). This knob is simply stuck: to remove it just pull it (it is suggested to use pliers with the tips coated with insulating tape to avoid damaging the knob itself). Once the knob has been removed, the T5 bulb is located right in the center: to replace it, simply remove it from the lamp holder by pulling it forward (it is advisable to use a pliers with narrow rods always covered with insulating tape). At this point, insert the new bulb (again using the narrow nose pliers), turn on the lights to make sure it works and reposition the knob.
