Remove the Heating Controls on a VW Golf

How to remove the air conditioning knobs to replace the manual illumination bulbs on a Volkswagen Golf? This video shows you how to proceed. Remove the ventilation knobs by hand (or with pliers). Disconnect the bulbs from the air conditioning control knobs (pull them out). Be careful not to break the bulbs inside the knobs. Replace the illumination bulbs or LEDs with new ones. Finally, reassemble all parts in reverse order of disassembly. Ensure the bulbs are of the same size and voltage. Test the operation.
