What is the Safelock on V.A.G. group cars?

In this video we are explained what Safelock is on V.A.G group cars: it is a security system that aims to make it difficult to break into the vehicle, and when activated, it prevents the doors from being opened, both from the inside and outside, unless the mechanical key or, in newer models, the manufacturer's dedicated app is used. How is it activated? Just lock the car with the remote control, and at this point even if someone were to break a window, they could not open the door by pulling the internal handle; it can only be deactivated with the key or the app. It is an effective deterrent against thieves, as it makes it difficult to access the interior, even after forcing entry; it can be useful to prevent small children from accidentally opening the doors while driving. However, it has some downsides, because if Safelock is activated and the mechanical key is forgotten or the app is not at hand, there is a risk of being locked inside the car: furthermore, we must know how it works well, to prevent the system from activating accidentally.
