Want to remove the handle on a Volkswagen door? Here's how to take the handle off from above the Volkswagen door. To disassemble the lock, you need a screwdriver or a trim removal tool. Remove the cover from the hole where the fastening screw is located. Unscrew the screw on the side of the door with the screwdriver, and remove the lock cylinder if it's on the driver's side. Remove the door opening handle once the fastening screws on the side of the door are removed. Screw in the fastening screw after securing the new handle in the door.
