Replacing the External Wing Mirror

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

To remove the wing mirror, you must first take off the internal panel. Using a small flathead screwdriver, unclip the internal handle cover and the switch panel, disconnecting the connector attached to it: then unscrew the two screws located beneath the removed switch panel and the two on the lower edge of the panel. Using a plastic lever, unclip the pressure clips along the edges of the panel and pull it upwards to detach it from the window seal; move it away from the door and disconnect the opening cable from the lever, the connector for the wing mirror adjustment switch, and the courtesy light connector: you can now remove the panel. Unclip the triangular plastic cover located just behind the wing mirror and unscrew the fixing pins. Fit the new wing mirror, passing the cable through the designated hole and tightening the fixing pins. Proceed in reverse order to reassemble everything previously removed.
