Let's see how to reset the service light on a Volkswagen Golf VI without steering wheel controls, so on versions that only have the two buttons on the instrument panel ("menu" and "set/reset"). The car must be turned off and the key must not be inserted. Press and hold the "set" button; without releasing the button, insert the key and turn it to turn on the instrument panel. Release the "set" button and press the "menu" button once. By doing this, the service light should disappear from the screen. Verify that the procedure has been successful by turning off the instrument panel and then turning it back on.
