Do you want to replace the gear knob on a Volkswagen Golf? Here’s how to do it: use a plastic lever to disconnect the trim of the leather gaiter, cut/remove the metal clip; take the knob in your hands and rotate it left and right until it comes off the gear lever.

For assembly: take the new knob and slide it onto the lever in the centre console, tightening it onto the lever; fit the new leather gaiter with the clips (inserted along with the knob).

Finally, test the correct installation of the knob by moving the lever on the centre console.
