How to Replace the Battery in a Volkswagen Golf 5 Key Fob

Let’s see how to replace the battery in the key fob of a Volkswagen Golf Mk5. Take your key fob and press the metal key release button; once the metal key pops out, use a screwdriver to pry between the two covers of the key (in the space where the metal key fits). Pry until the covers separate, then extract the flat battery using a small screwdriver (get a new one of the same size and voltage). Join the two parts of the covers and check the correct functioning of the key fob by pressing the buttons.
