How to change the battery in the Volkswagen Golf 7 remote?

The battery in the Volkswagen Golf 7 remote is a button cell battery identified by the code CR2025. Obtain a new one available at DIY shops, tobacconists, homeware stores, and hardware shops. It is advisable to keep a spare on hand for when shops are closed. To change the battery, open the cover on the back of the remote and insert a thin object, such as the tip of scissors, into the slot near the battery. Lever it out to remove the old battery, then insert the new one and close the remote.
