Let's see what causes the lack of heating in the cabin of the Volkswagen Golf V (and similar models): Air comes out of the vents, but it is not warm, even with the thermostat set to maximum; the engine reaches a normal temperature, but the heat does not reach the interior. The heater radiator (also known as the "heat exchanger") is usually clogged with dirt, sediment, or antifreeze residues. It is located under the dashboard (in the footwell). The proposed solution is to replace the heater core, which is a fairly complex operation, thoroughly clean it, and remove the accumulated sediment; we should check that the water passages are clear. If it is too dirty or damaged, it will be advisable to replace it.
