Replacing the Side Indicator Bulb

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

To replace the side indicator bulb, you need to remove the indicator unit itself.
Open the front bonnet and locate the plastic tab behind the left headlamp to which the retaining spring of the indicator is attached: pull the tab to release the spring and pull the indicator forward. Next, disconnect the bulb holder, replace the bulb, reattach the bulb holder, and reposition the indicator in its housing by sliding it into the side guides on the headlamp and reattaching the plastic tab.
To access the right indicator, you must remove the air duct by first unscrewing the two retaining screws located on the grille.
