Let's see how to replace the front grille of a Volkswagen Passat CC: you can find the new grille on AliExpress with the code 1005007886244165 for £62.15, with free delivery. Unscrew the three T25 Torx screws that secure the grille: one in the centre, one on the passenger side, and one on the driver side.

The grille is then held by plastic clips that you will release by pulling them towards you; the most critical points are the upper corners. Start from one upper corner and then work along the sides.

There is also a plastic tab that overlaps; pull in the correct direction to release it. The emblem is a separate piece that attaches to the grille with clips on the back. To remove it, use your fingers or a flat screwdriver to gently press the tabs from the other side of the grille.

Now you need to align the new grille; this is a delicate step. The new grille has a lip that must slide into a groove in the bumper, while the clips must align with the holes; it requires patience.

Once positioned correctly, you can re-screw the three T25 screws. In summary, removing it is easy, but refitting it is a bit more complicated.
