How to reset the service on a Volkswagen Golf.

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

On the Volkswagen Golf, resetting the service reminder is done with the ignition in the ON position and the engine off. Press and hold the 0.0/SET button on the dashboard, turn on the ignition, then release and use the OK button to confirm the reset when prompted; if the instrument menu is present, go to Settings, then Service/Maintenance, and choose Reset for Oil or Inspection, confirming the operation. Once completed, turn off and restart the Volkswagen Golf to check that the warning is no longer displayed. If the car is equipped with a central display management system, open Vehicle, then Service, continue with Reset Interval, and confirm; if the reset fails, repeat the sequence with the door closed and pedals released.
