How to Remove the Rear Door Handle on a Volkswagen Tiguan

Here’s how to remove the handle from the rear door of the Volkswagen Tiguan: open the rear door and locate the rubber cap on the outside of the door. It is approximately at the same height as the handle, and once removed, you will see a screw (usually a Torx) that secures the handle to the door frame. Unscrew it, being careful not to drop it inside the door cavity. Once this screw is removed, the handle is mechanically free. Grip it from the outside and slide it towards the rear to disengage it from the internal clips, then use a plastic tool to pry off the back part of the handle without scratching the paint, and fully extract it. If the handle has wiring (keyless entry), disconnect the electrical connector before completely removing the handle.
