To replace the rear tailgate lock on a Volkswagen Polo, open the tailgate and loosen the screws securing the internal trim panel. Once this panel is freed from the screws, detach the internal clips to remove it completely.

At this point, locate the corresponding lock, which must be freed from the screws and power cables. Then, insert the new lock into its housing so it can be secured.

After installation, check that everything functions correctly.
