How to Reset the Climatronic on the Volkswagen Passat B8

Model: Volkswagen Passat B8, 3G, MK 8 - Years 2014-2023

The following describes a quick reset of the Climatronic in "soft" mode. Turn on the panel without starting the engine, and simultaneously press the A/C button and the button that directs airflow towards the driver/passenger (the one with the person icon and front air arrows). Wait for the two LEDs to flash. Once flashing is complete, the LED of the SYNC button will automatically light up, and the LEDs of the pressed buttons will stop flashing. Turn off the panel. Operation complete. This is not a calibration of the internal motors, but a reset of the internal logic of the Climatronic unit, clearing any locked states or conflicting commands without physically moving the flaps.
