How to Clean the MAP Sensor on the Volkswagen Polo 6N

Model: Volkswagen Polo Polo VI, Polo 6, MK 6, AW1, MK VI - Years 2017-2025

Let's see how to clean the MAP sensor on the Volkswagen Polo 6N: the sensor is located either on the intake manifold screwed directly to the manifold or on a bracket connected to the manifold via a rubber hose. Before removing it, ensure the engine is cold, and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery; disconnect the electrical connector and the rubber hose, then unscrew the sensor. Check if the inlet hole is blocked with soot, and also inspect the inside of the rubber hose. Then, shake the cleaning spray can well (such as LWK8 WD-40, available on eBay with code 276717621382 for £30.54 with free delivery) and spray multiple times, allowing the spray to dissolve the residues and run off. Do not immerse the sensor in liquid, do not use compressed air to dry it, and do not touch the sensitive element with your fingers; when it is air-dried, remount it, reconnect the rubber hose, reconnect the electrical connector, and the battery; several ignition cycles may be necessary.
