How to tell if there is a fault with the wheel ABS sensor

Let's see how to determine if there is a fault with the ABS sensor: in this case, it is a Volkswagen Polo, but the system can be applied to any vehicle of this type. With the engine off, connect a multimeter to the ABS sensor wires of a wheel: the sensor should read 0 Volts (no signal). Turn on the ignition; the ECU will send a signal to the sensor. If the wires are intact, the tester should measure about 0.35 Volts, indicating that the ECU is sending the signal. Repeat the measurement on the other sensor to compare the values. If one sensor does not receive the signal, it may be faulty or have broken wires. If the ABS light is on but the sensors do not receive a signal, the problem could be with the ECU itself, dirty or damaged magnets, or the wheel tone ring.
