Installing a Roof Monitor

Model: Volkswagen Touareg MK 1, 7L - Years 2002-2010

First, use the drilling template included in the kit, ensuring it is correctly positioned on the headlining and secured with masking tape to outline the area of trim to be removed: following the indicated measurements, the cut will align with the reinforcement rib of the roof, which is already drilled for the insertion of rivets to secure the monitor support plate. Next, completely remove the interior light, the trim of the left windscreen pillar, and take off the protective covers of the fuse box and the fuse box itself (this will be needed for electrical connections).
Connect a probe to the monitor wiring and pass the cables through the hole just made, to the interior light and through the headlining and pillar to reach the fuse box. Then, secure the monitor support plate to the roof with the rivets, connect the plug to the monitor, and fasten it to the plate with the appropriate screws. Finally, make the electrical connections (permanent positive, switched positive, and ground), ensuring they are properly insulated, and reassemble everything in reverse order.
