How do you change the remote key battery for a Volkswagen Golf? This video shows in detail how to do it. Take the remote key, pry between the two parts of the plastic key cover. Pry until the cap fixed in the cover opens. Remove the worn battery with a screwdriver; take a new battery of the same size and voltage. Refit the cover cap onto the remote by pressing on the key until you hear it click into place. Check the remote key functions correctly with the buttons.
