How do you remove the car roof? Disassemble the roof panel to replace the damaged lining? Let's look at the disassembly process on a Golf. Remove the sun visors and the overhead lighting unit located in the panel. Unscrew and remove the side handles of the headlining with a screwdriver. Remove the plastic trim of the pillars. If the car has a sunroof, open it before removing the panel. Detach the headlining panel around the perimeter of the car roof. Be careful when pulling it out of the car. Cover the panel with the new fabric. Refit the panel inside the Golf 6.
