How to Remove the Tailgate Lock on Golf 5

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 5, Golf 5, Golf V - Years 2003-2008

Position the Volkswagen Golf 5 on a flat surface or on a lift, as you should for any maintenance operation performed on vehicles. This procedure is recommended for stable and safe working. Once done, open the rear tailgate of the boot, from which you want to replace the lock. Remove the inner finishing panel by unscrewing the screws, as indicated in the images, and unlock the clips using your fingers along the entire perimeter of the panel. Unscrew the two bolts on the sides of the lock block using the appropriate spanner and remove it. Replace the old lock with the new one, reassemble the panel, and the job is done!
