How to Remove the Boot Lock on a Volkswagen Golf

Before starting, open the tailgate of your Volkswagen Golf. Begin by removing the tailgate panel by unscrewing the fixing screws and releasing the internal clips using a thin but sturdy tool. Next, disconnect the internal linkages of the lock actuator by simply pulling them outward. Once done, unscrew and remove the screws securing the lock to the tailgate. After completing this step, you can extract and remove the lock from its housing, completing the disassembly.
