- Years 1997-2003 In today's video tutorial we will see how to remove the central tunnel of a Volkswagen Golf fourth series. First of all, let's get inside the car and remove the ashtray of our central tunnel, located at the rear; after which we remove the torx screws that we find below and the additional screws on the sides. At this point we can remove the plastic of the central tunnel, disconnecting the electrical connector that we find below. Now let's disassemble the gearshift gaiter, unhook it, and remove the screws that we find under the ashtray: finally, remove the side screws to remove all the plastic.
