Remote Key Battery Replacement on a VW Touran

Model: Volkswagen Touran MK 1, 1T - Years 2003-2015

Is the remote key battery flat and needs replacing? Let's see how to dismantle the key and replace the battery on a VW Touran. Separate the two halves of the key (as shown in the video). Once the metal key is separated from the rest of the key, use a screwdriver to pry between the plastic covers. Remove the flat battery inside, take a new one of the same size and voltage. Reassemble the plastic covers onto the remote by pressing until you hear a click. Join the plastic part with the metal key and the other half of the key. Check the remote key's operation after the replacement.
