Before you start, open the tailgate of your Volkswagen Golf. Begin by removing the carpet that covers the fixing nut of the rear light, which you will need to unscrew and remove. Next, pull out the light unit and disconnect the corresponding electrical connector.

This will give you access to the bulb holder. Proceed by unfastening the clips that secure the bulb holder to the rear light.

At this point, you will have reached the blown bulb, which you need to unclip and remove, completing the disassembly. To fit the new bulb and reassemble the light, simply follow these steps in reverse, and the replacement will be complete.
