Removing the Tailgate Lock on VW Polo

Do you want to remove the rear tailgate lock? Here’s how to take off the tailgate lock on a Polo. Unlatch and lift the tailgate of your car, then use a screwdriver to unscrew the securing screws on the plastic panel covering the entire lock mechanism. Remove the plastic behind the tailgate of the boot (use a plastic or metal lever for assistance), and disconnect the power connectors. Remove the faulty lock and fit a new one. Follow the same procedure for reassembling the plastics. Check the lock operation after replacement.
