How do you remove the gear knob on a Golf? Let's see the removal of the knob and the gearshift gaiter. With a plastic lever we disconnect the frame of the leather cap, we unhook the clamp of the knob. We take the knob in our hands and rotate it to the left and right until it is removed from the shift rod (we remove the boot). We take the new knob and insert it into the rod on the central tunnel, tighten the same in the rod together with the new leather cap. Once the knob is locked, all we have to do is cover the rod with the covering skin and lock the frame.
