Fuel Filter Replacement

Model: Volkswagen Jetta MK 5, A5 - Years 2005-2010
Part: Diesel fuel filter

The diesel filter is located underneath the vehicle near the rear right wheel: it is a metal canister to which the inlet, outlet, and return pipes are connected; it is absolutely important to respect the direction of fuel flow, indicated on the filter with arrows. Position a container under the filter and disconnect the pipes (push-fit); also disconnect the earth wire (this is to discharge any stray currents and avoid dangerous sparks) and loosen the retaining clip to remove the old filter and fit the new one. Secure the filter with the arrow pointing forward and reconnect the pipes and earth wire.
