To perform a manual reset on a Volkswagen Golf 8, start by pressing the OK button on the steering wheel, then press the button on the right to access the dropdown menu. Select the first option and set the 'sinds start' entry.

Now, hold the button for five seconds to bring up a secret menu. Scroll through the menu and select the reset inspection option, then press OK. Close the menu and return to the main menu.

Turn off the car and repeat the procedure to access the secret menu and view the new settings after the reset.
