In order to replace the Volkswagen Golf 6 gear knob, you need to lift the lower part of the leather upholstery at the base of the gear lever. Once the leather cover has been completely lifted, the hook that secures it to the knob must be removed, so that both pieces can be extracted. Once the old knob and its leather boot have been removed, the new replacement parts can be installed. The new knob must be connected to its internal hook and the leather cover must be fixed in its housing with the relative fixing clips.
