To replace the number plate light bulb on a Volkswagen Passat, use a tool to lever the light unit out of its housing. Once the light unit is removed, press the two side tabs to release the bulb from the two terminals it is connected to. After removing the old bulb, install a new one and secure it between the two terminals. After replacement, reinsert the light unit into its housing and check the correct operation of the new bulb.
