The timing belt is one of the vital parts of the car's engine. It connects the crankshaft, fuel injection pump, water pump, and camshaft that controls the intake and exhaust valves. The timing belt is subject to wear. Over time, it loses strength and can break, causing severe damage to the engine. The complete timing kit (belt, rollers, and water pump) should be replaced according to the manufacturer's instructions in the manual, generally around 87,500 miles or every 6 to 8 years.
