Instructions for Dismantling Remote Key

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 6, Golf VI, Golf 6, 5K1 - Years 2008-2012

If you need to dismantle the remote key to replace the battery or the covers, note that there are two models. MODEL WITH SEPARABLE KEY AND REMOTE
To dismantle this first model, first remove the logo from the back of the cover and unscrew the underlying screw; at this point, you can separate the remote part from the key. To open the remote shells, simply lever in the gap between the two shells and then remove the battery and the electronic circuit. Similarly, lever between the shells of the part connected to the key to separate them: take care with the preload spring of the key opening mechanism; also, inside this shell is the transponder capsule of the immobiliser. MODEL WITH NON-SEPARABLE KEY AND REMOTE
To separate the shells of this model, first unclip the battery cover, then, using a punch, press inside the designated hole on the pin to retract it and separate the two shells. In this case, the transponder is integrated into the electronic circuit.
