How to Replace the Front Headlight Bulbs on the Golf 5

Here’s how to change the front headlight bulbs on the Golf 5. Check the owner's manual to find out which type of bulb is used in your vehicle; it is likely an H5. Put on a pair of gloves and open the bonnet using the safety lever located under the bonnet above the front badge, locating the rear of the headlight. Now you will see a cover, which you need to turn anti-clockwise to unlock. Remove it to access the bulb holder. Rotate the bulb holder to remove the assembly. Replace the bulb, ensuring it is correctly seated. Reassemble by turning the bulb holder to the left and the cover to the right. Repeat the same procedure for the other headlight and finally test the bulbs, ensuring the beam is directed downwards and does not dazzle oncoming users.
