In this tutorial, you will learn how to install the automatic tailgate opener on a Volkswagen Golf. To do this, you will need a pair of heavy-duty gas struts, like the ones shown in the video, and reinforced pins. Start by opening the tailgate, then detach the first strut by unlocking the clips with a flat-head screwdriver. Next, unscrew the two joints, replace them with the reinforced parts, and attach the new strut to them. Once done, repeat the process on the opposite side and test the operation by pressing the opening button on the remote control. If this function is not present in your car, you will need to code it using one of the various scanners available on the market.
