How to Replace the Front Shock Absorber on a Volkswagen Tiguan 1

This video tutorial demonstrates how to replace the front shock absorber on a Volkswagen Tiguan 1 by following some essential steps: first, get inside the vehicle, turn off the engine, and pull the handbrake; lift the bonnet and secure it with the prop rod; now remove the windscreen frame and wipers (before removing the wipers, mark their position with tape so you can reinstall them correctly). Use a 13mm socket to unscrew the nuts. Once the wipers are removed, take off the metal tabs that hold the windscreen frame. Use a 13mm socket to unscrew the three bolts securing the shock absorber cups; to replace the shock absorbers, lift the front end. Before lifting, loosen the wheel bolts, jack up the vehicle, and place safety stands. Remove the wheel bolts and take off the wheel. Place the wheel under the vehicle for added safety. Remove the stabiliser bar link; detach the wishbone and hub joint; insert a thin screwdriver between the two parts of the disc (insert it before the support to lock it). Unscrew the hub nut with a breaker bar and a 24mm XZN socket; remove the ABS sensor cable, use a flat screwdriver to detach the tube's mounting plate and remove the tube. Using an 18mm socket, unscrew the three bolts of the wishbone ball joint and use a crowbar to detach it. Remove the hub joint (prepare a support as shown in the video); insert a chisel into the hub opening, lightly tap the hub to free the base of the shock absorber; use a 13mm socket to remove the three bolts supporting the shock absorber and take out the shock absorber.
