To change the gearbox oil on a Volkswagen Golf 5, access the components at the bottom of the engine bay: here you will find a plate that needs to be removed by unscrewing the corresponding fixing bolts. Once the plate is removed, you can open the oil drain plug to collect the used oil in a suitably positioned container. Once the oil has completely drained, you can insert the new oil using a suitable syringe; after topping up, close the drain plug and secure the plate.
