Alternator Pulley Replacement

The noise from the alternator pulley is a common fault: it is possible to replace just the pulley, which is readily available in the aftermarket (note the code on the pulley cap); to remove it, you need to free the pulley from the auxiliary belt: remove the plastic cover on the engine, take off the front right wheel, the protective cover under the engine bay, and the wheel arch liner; once you reach the auxiliary belt tensioner, loosen it and free the pulleys; then remove the fuel filter mounting bolts and move it without disconnecting the pipes to access the alternator pulley; remove the cap and use the appropriate tool to remove the pulley and install the new one; then reverse the process to reposition the fuel filter, the auxiliary belt, and the various covers.
