Alternator Pulley Replacement

The alternator pulley is a very specific component as it ensures the rotation of the alternator shaft in one direction only: accidental rotations in the opposite direction are prevented by the pulley’s ability to spin freely in that direction. With a bearing inside the pulley, repeated rotation cycles can wear it out, making it noisy or even seizing, compromising the alternator's function. Replacing the pulley is extremely straightforward, provided you have the appropriate spanner to unscrew and refit it (when selecting the new pulley, check the diameter and the number of grooves).
