Water Drain from Breather Valve

Model: Volkswagen Touareg MK 1, 7L - Years 2002-2010

Dirt can cause the breather valves, which drain water from the drip trays during rain or vehicle washing, to become blocked. These are special rubber valves that open under water pressure. When these valves are blocked, the drainage channels can fill up so much that a sloshing noise is heard inside the cabin, as if there were an aquarium in the car. In this case, you need to access the breather valve and clean it to allow the water to drain. To perform this operation, remove the front wheel and the plastic wheel arch liner. Once you access the valve, remove it, let the water drain, and clean it before refitting.
